Helen 8th August 2019

Dear Ruth, Dave, Phil and family - We are very saddened by Duncan’s sudden passing - such a shock after only seeing him and Ruth in Melbourne recently. Having met when we first came to Australia over 30 years ago, Duncan became a good friend and valued academic colleague. He made a significant contribution to gerontology research in Australia, including a passion for improving the quality and standards of aged care. He will be fondly remembered for his spirit of collaboration and ability to focus on the things that matter. He was always generous with his time and successfully mentored many students over his career. Duncan was a great leveller and brought a sense of fun to any occasion. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. We send our heartfelt condolences to Ruth and all the family. With love, Helen & Keith Bartlett
